During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Laoniuwan was prosperous in waterway transportation, there were many inns, bars and shops, many boatmen and businessmen would come here to stay. Because Laoniuwan was the first village where the Yellow River entered Shanxi, people used to call it "The First Bend Inn". The existing First Bend Inn is a typical northern Shanxi style cave courtyard, in it there are Laoniuwan’s unique stone caves, the stone Kang is natural and unique.
